How to make Thai Iced Coffee.

Dear all,

Could you remember me? Today I would like to tell you how to make Oleang.

Traditionally, Oleang, or Thai Iced Coffee, is brewed with a "tung dtom kaffee"-a metal ring with a handle to which a cloth bag is attached.

To make coffee like this, put the oliang in the bag and pour boiling water through into a carafe. Let the bag steep for approximately 10 minutes, until strong. Add sugar and stir to dissolve. Let cool. Pour into a glass with ice, and add the dairy product of your choice: half-and- half, condensed milk, evaporated milk, or a mixture of these three.

The proportions of coffee, water, and sugar may vary according to taste.

Try using 2/3 part oleang to 1 1/4 parts sugar to 6 parts water.

Thais like coffee incredibly sweet!

Have a nice all day.

Those are some tricky ratios there.

The ratios are easy to convert to whole numbers:

8 oleang to 15 sugar to 72 water, which would probably make up without any noticeable difference as 1 oleang to 2 sugar to 9 water.

The tricky part is whether to interpret them as volume or mass.

For f*ck sake, people, have you heard of a measuring cup? And of course he meant volume not mass, dummy - because otherwise the amount of one "part" would not be constant! This really isn't rocket science!
