Adding more sugar to a Coopers Stout?

Hi, I just started a Coopers Stout kit last week and I think I added too little sugar (or dextrose or whatever.) I bought a plastic container of liquid sugar at the brew store I frequent. I'm gonna move it to a secondary fermenter as it has settled down, but I was wondering if I could add more sugar to the wort and let it ferment a second time to increase the alcoholic content. I haven't checked the SG yet to determine the alcoholic content but if I realize it's like 3%... is it possible to add more sugar without ruining the batch? BTW this is my third brew.

Thanks so much!!

PS how much sugar should I prime a stout with??? (is it supposed to be really carbonated?)

Should work fine...I do that with Belgian beers sometimes.

I use 5 oz. (weight) of corn sugar for 5 gal.

Thanks! I thought it would be ok, but I wanted to make sure and ask the experts. ;-) Peace,
