Bottling after Carbonation

I've been doing 5 Gal batches and force carbonating them in Kornys. Then using the keg-o-rator to serve it. Every once in a while I like to take some on the road for friends and family. I have a few swing-top bottles I like to use. Sometimes I use a growler if I know it's all gonna go. The only problem with this is filling them from the tap. It's kind of a pain when it foams up and of coarse I'm losing a bunch of carbonation. Does anyone have any tips for traveling my suds? I've seen the ads for "counter pressure" fillers. The ads make it look like it may work but I don't know anyone who has one to find out. Any advise would be greatly appreciated before I go out and spend another $50. (Thats like 4 batches of beer!) Thanx ahead of time.

Yes they work very well... (counter pressure fillers)

But..... If you are only filling up bottles to take with you occasional I would recommend using a "carbonator" top and fill PET bottles (empty 1 or 2 liter soda bottles) It allows you to pressurize the beer and it will last a good long time. I use them all the time you can even make your own but I just bought mine.

Also for filling your growlers try adding a piece of hose to you tap that goes to the bottom of the growler... no more foam....

If you get the keg really cold and push the beer with the minimum of pressure, you should be able to fill the bottles without having too much foam.

I was too cheap to buy one of those so I made one of these:

I was able to get them @ 12.00 so I decided that it was easier to buy them then to waist time scrounging around for the parts and putting them together......

Counter pressure bottle fillers (CPBF) work very well. If you don't go that route, add a length of hose to the faucet so it reaches the bottom of the bottle or growler. After sanitizing, wrap the opening of the bottle/growler with foil (also dipped in the sanitizer) then freeze them. Help keep the CO2 in solution (you should do this with a CPBF, too).

Beer here,
