Brew pot problem?

This is my first brew and I bought a new cheep 35 qt stainless steel Stock pot for @ $45

I filled it with 5 gal. water and boiled it for 45 minutes at a low boil. Just wanted a dry (or wet) run through. After I empty the pot I noticed that I could see some rust or metal on the bottom that wasn't there before I used it. I know this is a cheep pot and the stainless steel isn't too thick.

My question is, is this going to be a problem with my brew. I plan on using a gas burner in the garage to cook my brew.

Thanks for the help

The problem isn't the pot, it's the water. You apparently have hard water. Boiling is a common way to precipitate out some of the dissolved solids. The residue on the bottom of your pot is that precipitate.
