can you recarbonate a batch of beer?

Hi,

I used some carbonation drops in my brew which had about four more months shelf-life remaining. I figured seeing as its just sugar it would be fine. I tried a bottle of my stout after its two weeks had elapsed and it was flat. Whether it needs more time I'm not sure, but I was wondering is it a good idea to uncap all my bottles, recarbonate them with fresh drops, and then reseal with new tops?

My stepfather has opened bottles and put in more priming sugar solution to success, he also uses grolsch style bottles so its a little easier to do. For myself I tend to see that the 2 weeks isn't enough time to get the carbonation I shoot for, it tends to take closer to 3 weeks for me. Still haven't figured out why.

I would give it more time. Sometimes yeast can behave differently and you wouldn't want to find out the hard way that your beer was already primed and you created bottle bombs.
