Does anyone know or have any idea how many carbs there are in a 12-oz. bottle of homebrewed lager or ale? I know that it would vary according to the ingredients, so I'm just talking about an average recipe.

Probably about the same as a commercial beer - the total carbs will depend on how much of the grain is fermentable. More fully fermentable sugars will result in a lower carb count.
There's calories but hopefully no carbs in the average recipe.
why wouldn't there be any carbs??? inquireing minds and all??

There are. Unfermented sugars are carbs. Alcohol is (effectively) a carb.
