Cherry beer update...

For those of you who have been reading along, here is a little update of my Amber Ale/Cherry Cider experement. On 12-4-2004 racked to secondary. Gravity down to 1.022 from 1.062 There were still alot of solids floating around, kind of "muddy". Bottled today 12-14-2004. Cleared up very nice. Looked very close to the other Amber Ales that I have done, just a little more hint of red. Slight cherry cider smell and you can taste it more than any beers that I've added fruit extract to. gravity was down to 1.016, right about where I figured it would go. ABV 5.934% That's about all for now. I'll give another update in about 2 weeks if all goes well. Next up....first try at lager, a Czech Pilsner.

Hmm, My favorite. Let me know how you go. I reckon its one of the most difficult styles to brew. My first attempt was way off target - still nice beer, but Pils? Nah. Steve W.
