Many people recommend using a Gott brand 5 or 10 gallon cylindrical beverage
cooler as a mash/lauter tun because they will work with hot as well as cold
liquids. I can't seem to find them anywhere nor can I find any comercial
outlet on the Internet. Are these still available?

I appreciate that, but the Morebeer.com site has them at $58, before
shipping.  I shopped around, online, and this was the best I could do.
Oh well, it's not an item I'll need to keep buying, like natural gas,
which just may break the bank this season.
