hopping stouts

Having had a squiz at some stout recipes, and BJCP style guidlines. I
note that hop aroma and flavour are considered no nos in most stout
styles. Now I personally don't mind some hop aroma and flavour in some
stouts. I'm curious to know if anyone out there flavour/aroma hops their
stouts, if so to what degree? Any one megahopped (flavour/aroma) a
stout, how did it turn out? What hop varieties work best for stouts?

Have only ever used finishing hops in my stouts, but generally Fuggles are a
good stout/dark ale hops.

I agree.  I not strongly hopped a stout yet, only on the finish, and
only if I'm not using a hopped extract. But, I do like a little
hoppiness and my give it a try. Seems to me that it would make it closer
to a really dark ale.
