Jim Koch method of priming?

I saw a video on

where Jim Koch gave instructions for home brewing, and to prime his beer he put the dry malt extract directly into the finished beer without boiling a priming solution first. Then he stirred it into the beer with a wire whisk. Has anyone used this method before? I've always been instructed to boil the priming malt first, and to gently stir it into the beer before bottling. Seems Jim's method opens the door possible infection.

He should know better. Whisking finished beer would aerate it and oxidize it. Priming sugar should always be dissolved and boiled first.

That could be something to throw off the competition too. You never know.
