kegging

I have recemtly gotten back into brewing and have decided to try kegging. I have just gotten a beer fridge and was hoping to get some info. I am in the Milwaukee area and was wondering where to get a good co2 tank and also is there anyplace local to get them filled at.

TIA

try a welding supply or fire extinguisher supplier for refills, both should have co2

Yes... look under gas (no not that kind!) in the yellow pages and you'll find a welding supply or med/industrial supply company. They will let you pay a lease (they'll call it rental or something else) on a bottle or you can buy your own-- ranges from about $60 (ebay) to $150 (local brew shop or online like northernbrewer.com or morebeer.com) . In the end you can screw with ebay or just go get the thing and be done with it...

refill should be less than $20 on a 20 pounder (it's actually US$12 where I live).

The key to CO2 is... DO NOT leave the CO2 tank "ON" all the time... this puts all the responsibility (pressure?) on your couplings... charge your kegs and then turn off your CO2 tank until re-charging is needed.

best of luck.
