Mold In My Beer...Help!!!

Recently my girl and I brewed some beer for the first time using "Mr. Beer" brewing kit....and in one week, I noticed small amounts of mold in the beer. (during the first fermentation) Is this ok? Can I continue to go to step 2 of the fermentation process? Thanks to anyone that can help.

Are you sure it's mold? The fermentation produces CO2, which shows as foam on the surface. It can resemble mold somewhat.

That is possible, but I had it in my basement were the temp wouldn't reach over 75 degrees....should I continue to go to step 2 and bottle it and see what happens? The rest of it doesn't look all that bad....

I wouldn't, but the worst that can happen is you waste some time and have wind up with a bad tasting beer. If it's your first batch, at least you will get some practice with the rest of the steps though.
