OT: Root beer extract recipe

This is just a general comment about a bottle of root beer extract I found at a supermarket but did not buy. There was a recipe on the back of its box suggesting one mix the extract with five gallons of warm water, one packet of baking yeast and five pounds of sugar (probably plain table-sugar) and then bottle immediately. No sanitation precautions were given. Am I, newbie that I am, wrong in thinking this a sure-fire way to create bottle-bombs? The recipe suggested using plastic rather than glass bottles, too.

First off I wouldn't use baking yeast just for the flavor it leaves. secondly it would make bottle bombs if left long enough. leave it for about
