transferring wheat beer from fermenter

I have a wheat beer brewing that will be ready to keg in a few days. Previous brews (all 2 of them) that I have made has not had a thick wad of crud on the top and I have siphoned them. I figure that if I try to siphon this lot that I am going to stir up lots of sediment (particulary with a jiggler siphon).

The fermenter has a tap at the bottom which would seem ideal. My only concern is that I have taken SG readings with this tap and it doesn't look that easy to sanitize thoroughly. Should I worry? Any tips on cleaning/sanitizing the tap. It is a plastic fermenter and tap.

cheers
