Ginger Ale 2006
1.00 lbs. CaraPilsner 3.00 lbs. Generic LME - Light 3.00 lbs. Clover Honey 1.00 lbs. Cane Sugar 0.50 lbs. Generic DME - Light1.00 oz. Cascade Pellet
1.00 oz. Willamette Pellet40.00 Oz Ginger Root
2.00 Lemon 1 tbs Irish MossWYeast 1056 Amercan Ale/Chico
Mash grain in 1.5 gal water @ 150-155F for 30 minutes.
Sparge/rinse grains with 2 qts of 170F water.
Add DME and then enough water to bring up to 2 gal.
Bring to boil and add Cascade hops.
After 30 minutes add LME, ~2 lbs honey, lemon juice and rinds(minus zest), and ~3/4 of the ginger.
After another 15 minutes add sugar and Irish moss(1tsp), and remove rinds.
After another 5 minutes add rest of honey, rest of ginger and zest of lemons.
After another 8 minutes add Willamette hops.
After another 2 minutes chill, add to primary, top up to 5.5 gal, and pitch yeast.
