Cheap but scented

My local tea shoppe is discontinuing its Taiwan TGY scented with dried pomengranate called pomoolong and Fujian BaiMuDan scented with exotic mangousteen. The price was right so I cant complain about the fruity taste. I might be able to separate out the dried fruit and let the tea air out. If Im lucky the fruity taste may be missing from the brew. Hopefully the aroma will be gone in multiple infusions. The best steal discontinued MaoFeng to be replaced by all the rage bug ravaged Taiwan GuiFei. The shoppe owner keeps trying to establish a Chinese taste baseline but those suburban housewifes are finicky. Of course my wallet doesnt mind. The employee du jour told me all the scented Chinese teas were for making ice tea. At least make the crock of BS believable.

PS I need to start mentioning the emerald green infusion teas like MaoFeng. It makes my tannin crusted tea glass look squeaky clean. I cant remember the last time I had MaoFeng (if ever). It reminds me of a less intoxicating LiuAnGuaPian. You can tell lesser grade TGY by the leaf style, single leaf plus stem. The better grade is multileaf stem. Ill have to say I like the pomoolong with the lesser grade. Its a complimentary taste. This probably would make a superior iced tea. The best way to enjoy Mangousteen is add some top grade white peony on stem. Overpowering. An oily taste like Bergamont. Expensive perfumes smell worse than this. All in all better than I expected for scented teas. Its too bad the tea industry has to adulterate tea like this to satisfy someones sensibility.
