Lapsang Souchong: live or Memorex?

I recently discovered Lapsang Souchong: my first cup was definitely an enlightening experience (it also was the first time I tried a 'fancy' tea, as opposed to the usual supermarket-grade stuff I was used to).

The LS I bought is so smoky that I dubbed it "liquid cigar"; also it's the only kind of tea I like to drink unsweetened (I'm strictly a black tea drinker).

Only one question: is Lapsang Souchong still processed the traditional way nowadays (i.e. leaves smoked on pine needles) or do they use artificial scents/flavors to get the smoky taste?

Well, from some descriptions I've read, pu-erh didn't look exactly "tempting", but... I know I'm going to try it sooner or later (sometimes I do feel adventurous).
