Top of a Tong

Your cakes of puer arrive completely bundled up in bamboo shell called a tong. There is inscription on both ends. You don't know from either orientation what is wrapper face up or face down. It took awhile and I doubled checked all previous bundles. The wrapper up or 'top' is the side with fold over leaves. The bottom will look like a flat 'pan'. Since the top has more identification information and is brittle and cannot be moved conventiently out of the way I open up from the 'bottom' and flip the wrapper information right side up. If you are carefull you can cut out the pan without cutting a wrapper and save that information.

PS This order was my first silver tip from Jingmai Mtn Lancang factory. It has Chinese characters and from what Danny indicated before uses a romanized local native nationality script, perhaps Dai? I like cooked puer because I can drink it off the top in a cup. Uncooked like this one, needs a brewing vessle because it gets too bitter in the cup. There is some taste in the second infusion but not much when drank off the top. The grade is some particulate silver tip but basically half to full medium size leaf. The ratio of silver tip to green leaf is 50/50. The price of the 8x125g tong was comparable to a single Menghai factory 357g silver tip.
