white tea recommendation?

Hi,

I'm looking for a white tea, something relatively affordable but with a decent taste (the eternal quest...) and from an online vendor. I'd be grateful for any recommendations.

Many thanks,

Sally

Hi- I am the founder of Inko's White Tea (not that that means anything lol). I like Adagio.xom for my personal white-tea selection.

I am in no way affiliated with them.

Longevity Eyebrow King from Funalliance. Good looking leaf and cheap too. It's a neat tea because it's quite sensitive to brewing parameters, but rarely produces a bad cup. Different mixes of heat and steep time produce a variety of flavours from sweet and floral to spicy and baked-goods like. Just keep the temps below boiling.

I had a white tea only once....it was incredibly bitter and a little terrible at first....then a wave of sweetness would not leave my tongue even after like 30 minutes.

I have no idea what kind it was.

I think the ZW20 First Grade Shou Mei from

is nice. I tried a sample of the ZW56 Organic Pai Mu Tan but didn't care for it. The Shou Mei is smoother.

HTH.

If I recall correctly I liked that one too. It's a big strange due to its large leaves, but good overall.

I also liked the ZW80 Yin Zhen Bai Hao Downy White Pekoe .. sweet and interesting. Almost too delicate for my standard fare.. it's one of those that's best out of very fine porcelain and as sort of a 'dessert' drink.. it would be overpowered by any food but it's sweet enough that it's too cloying for a refreshing mid-day or even afternoon tea. Not sure when to drink it. Perhaps before bed.

I was wondering about that one but decided not to sample that which I couldn't afford to buy on a regular basis in fear I'd get hooked ;).

Have you tried the ZW82 China White Snow Buds Imperial Reserve? It knocked my socks off and laid me out under the coffee table at the same time I was floating above the sofa. Sublime. IMO, this is what white tea is all about although the price is starting to get up there. There was another one, the ZW52 Special Grade Mutan that's no longer available that I also liked very much.

Haven't tried that one but I will! I always get 10-12 samplers rather than any big box o' any single one, since I get bored easily and it keeps them fresh since they're all packed in small thingies.

I'm about to do a winter order and I'll throw that one in.

I always get samples of my lesser favorites for that reason. For favorite-favorites, I get the small tin and refill from a big bag to keep the cost down and the teas fresher than constantly dipping into a big container.

Hi Sally, Even I am a lover of white tea & I get it online from Halmari tea. Their silver needles white tea is simply delicious, I am sure you will like it too. The price is also very reasonable and will not pinch your pocket much. The delivery is also quite fast. Website link -
