Yunnan black in search of

My stash of yunnan black gold is running low,

i'm looking for a yunnan black with alot of flavor, with low-medium "astringency"/"tannin" maybe if it has any lingering smoky sensations is good !

(cant order from overseas stores-YSLLC, teaspring, as USPS is not reliable)

or if you know of a keemun/qimen i'll take that too :)

I know it is customary to castigate one's own postal service (I admit doing so myself) but to be fair my company Nothing But Tea over the past five years has shipped many hundreds of teas and accessories orders by mail to the USA without ever having a single complaint about non delivery or damage. Our experience may be an exception to the rule but the USA is consistenly our second largest customer destination and that certainly could not be so if USPS were so unreliable as to exclude ordering from overseas.

I hesitate to promote it but our NBT Tippy Yunnan is one of the only two teas I ever take with me when traveling - fits your description precisely, and well worth a try.

Hehe, no need for hesitation -- it's out of stock. :P

I've been drinking lot of delicious golden teas lately, so it's a shame I can't try that one. The leaves are beautiful:

(I finally got around to ordering some of the Georgian teas, though.)

2007 Yunnan Gold "Jin Si" Golden Tips Black Tea - Hou De - the best I've found without going to China. 2oz - $9.50.

That does look good although I haven't had a chance to try it yet myself. I've been very happy with all of the tea I've gotten from HouDe. You also can't beat that price for a high quality tea.

Sorry - do you guys have a link to that Jin Si above?

I fell in love a long time ago with Yun Nan Hong Cha - but it's been many years since I've found a good one. In the early 90's it was easy to find good ones. I particularly was fond of the 'fresh cracked pepper' flavor of the tea. I know hong cha is not very popular in China, but I hope there's a turn around someday! Now I settle for #2 Ten Ren or Rishi's.

When I was in Guang Zhou in the summer of 2006 I bought a kilo of some excellent Yun Nan - but I should have written down the name of the shop so I could post some to the states!!! It was a teashop in an alley by the street markets by the White Swan.

Cheers Geoff
