Blue Max liquors

Been lurking here for a month or two and enjoying learning more about some of the single malts I taste from time to time.

Was in the twin cities on business and stopped at a place called Blue Max liquors on the south side near the I35-I35EW junction. They had over 150 single malts in stock. All the classics and several I had never seen before except in the malt advocate.

Unfortunately I was unable to spend any money as I had just blown up a water pump and needed ot find an auto store for repair parts. The wheels took precedence over a nice bottle. Grrrrrr.

If you are in Minnesota, it may be worth a visit. I plan on going back up with a shopping list.

I too have been lurking - I believe I've posted maybe 2 or 3 times at the most... but this was worth responding to!

Yes, I know the place well (and have spent quite sometime mulling over their huge variety). It's officially located in Burnsville, between Hwy 11 & Portland ave for those "locals" in the area!

I live about 6 miles west of that shop, just across the city/county border in Savage.

Sorry to hear it, but I can certainly relate!

What area are you from? It might be fun to put together an impromptu whisky tasting in the area - if anyone else is interested, drop me a message (to snipped-for-privacy@xtralite.NOSPAM.com) - just remove the NOSPAM ;-)

I'm an amateur by all accounts, but practice makes perfect - and company is never a bad thing either!
