I just picked up a bottle of Cairluish on a whim from my local grocers, as it was only $22 (whereas all their other single malts were in the $40-$50 range). Not bad. Not outstanding, mind you, but not bad. Somewhat simplistic flavor: a bit of caramel and toasted-oak, a slight hint of Islay-esque peat smoke. Round and balanced and warm. Nice for after-dinner sipping. I've certainly paid more for worse whisky. (The last bottle of Glen Livet I tried, for example, was disappointing; rather like Glen Morangie that'd been diluted with vodka.) (I'd rather go for a Glen Morangie Portwood Finish, but I can't aford to spend $55 on it right now. Sigh.)
