Seems to me, Bruno, that ole' JC had a sip of alcohol himself. The only difference is he called it wine. But I'm sure you and your ill advised advice wouldn't listen to such an unchristian thought!!
Dave, lover of whisky!
By the way Bruno, from the sound of it you're probably a Catholic. Well, several friends of mine happen to be Catholic priests. One of them is an expert on single malt scotch and I can tell you from personal experience he sees nothing wrong with it at all. He happens to be of the opinion that people like you who seems to zealots in their opinions are a bunch of cranks that shouldn't be listened to.
I expect to see all my friends there anyway.
Sipping a dram of Bruichladdich (SP?) 15 YO as I write.
That's charitable of you, Richard. I think it's more likely that Bruno is a garden-variety troll, trying to get a rise out of the folks in this group.
Far as I'm concerned, Jesus turns water into single malt, by means of the miracle of Scottish distilleries.
I respect the choice made by people who decide not to drink it, and I expect the same from them when I choose to chew on a little Lagavulin, in moderation. It's all part of God's marvellous creation.
cheers.

It is the olive, that most perfect adjunct to the Dry Martini, that proves God loves us!
Well, doesn't "whisky" originate from the meaning WATER OF LIFE? Nothing wrong with drinking the water of life now is there?
And bourbon distilleries in Kentucky too! And Japanese distilleries in Japan too!! And half a miracle from Tennessee distilleries too lol. Anything that's been sitting in cask for at least seven years is special in my book.
Should I switch to wine?

i agree. stop drinking and give it all to me. i take care of the unholy stuff!!!
Thanks, For the record, it is interesting you mentioned Lagavulin. Every year my parents are generous with the Christmas money. Even at my age. One of the thing I always do with the moneys buy a bottle of single malt, usually something I wanted to try but generally is more expensive I can afford. Because of Lagavulin was no where to be found at the suburban Liquor stores in Portland Oregon and I some other items had cost more than I expected I settled down to 10 year Laphroaig.
