Easy Drinking Whisky Company

I was bought a bottle of the "Smokey Peaty" and I am quite impressed. Not subtle or complex but certainly flavoursome. The website indicates that is simply a blend of Talisker and Highland Park but it doesn't taste like either to me! It comes in a 50cl bottle. More details of this modern company:

Actually, the website states that the Smoky Peaty One is a vatting of:

"Six malt whiskies selected from Scotland's top Island Distilleries - Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain, Bowmore, Laphroaig from Islay, Ledaig from Mull and a wallop of Highland Park"

Indeed it does and these make much more sense, but the site seems to contradict itself when it says: "At the same time, Mark had asked for a Smokey style whisky, similar to Highland Park or Talisker. So Robbo created two amazing whiskies that spurred a heated debate as to which was better. The discussion continued well into the night at a hotel outside Bristol, culminating in a moment of genius... someone (can't remember who) mixed the two whiskies in the same glass. It tasted amazing, distinctive yet smooth, Smokey and Peaty at the same time: The Smokey Peaty One was born."

Doesn't look like a contradiction to me - they created two whiskies, couldn't decide which was the better, then mixed them.

That isn't the contradiction! It is what goes into Smokey Peaty One that is.

ie: "Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain, Bowmore, Laphroaig, Ledaig and Highland Park" or "Highland Park or Talisker".

Oh, I see. It says it's the former. I can't see anything that says or implies that it's the latter?

I'm afraid I'm going to have to give up on this one, because I just can't see what you're getting at. They wanted to create a smoky whisky like Highland Park or Talisker, and they used Caol Ila, Bunnahabhain, Bowmore, Laphroaig, Ledaig and Highland Park to do it. I still can't see a contradiction.

Perhaps it is me but the sentence "someone mixed the two whiskies in the same glass. It tasted amazing, distinctive yet smooth, Smokey and Peaty at the same time: The Smokey Peaty One was born." , says to me, the smokey peaty one is a mixture of the two whiskies!

Anyway let's move on!
