Glenmorangie Wine Finishes??

Next month the great and munificent state of North Carolina will have on sale in our state liquor stores several of the Glenmorangie malts, including Port Wood Finish, Sherry Wood Finish, Burgandy Wood Finish, and Madeira Wood Finish.

Comments, suggestions, preferences, etc all welcome as to which one(s) I ought purchase.

thanks,

I like the Sherry, don't mind the Port, Loath the Burgundy and have never tried the Madeira. Both the sherry and port add a level of complexity that makes a nice change, and it is quite surprising what happens with just a couple drops of water. The Burgundy seems to just get confusing, there is too much wine taste going on and all the other flavors get washed away in it. (FWIW I'm not a Burgundy wine fan either)

Personal preference is still for the 18 y/o.

The Glenmorangie Port Wood is my second favourite port-finished whisky. My favourite is the Edradour.

Can't really comment on the others - it's been too long since I tried any of them, although I think I remember thinking 'meh' about the burgundy.

I've only had the Glenmorangie 12 and the Port Wood finish. I do like subtle finishes. The Port Wood was rated a bit higher than the others by Jackson. I think it's a good dram. I don't think it's worth the cost compared to some others.

I've also tried the port, decent but not too memorable.
