Try the Evan Williams if the price is right. Rebel Yell is a little lighter tasting and makes a good ginger ale/whiskey mixer. Vo Gold is smoother and lighter than the other two. If price is a major motivator then any of them at the right price should be a good choice.

well i already set my price i'd pay for whisky.nothing over $20 a 5th. vo gold i found at $20 too. did find a jim beam 1.75l or 2+, 5ths. at $26. might give it a try. read up on jim beam. sounds interesting history.Should have a overall very good taste all its own.it might be fun drinking one of the main brands. I'm sure alot of people will have views about jim beam. I'd guess its as popular/good as jd/old charter. n i'm posting more cause i come here 9 times a week. n very lil being said. this place is almost as dead as a grave yard.lol

I'm not seeing the idiot in question. Are they widely crossposted posts by any chance? Any post to 3 or more groups won't be worth reading, ever, so I block them programatically. Improves usenet's signal:noise ratio tremendously.

actually 7 too many. name 4 brands you like under $22. n you all talk about some brands.we cant find that costs over $50.so we would most likely never try. most thinking people would never spend alot on a brand thats close to a $14 brand in taste. Why talk about a limited bottle of whisky? The rarer the whisky the less people to have experience with it. i see most here are very limited on the simplest information. thats why i talk about brands any1 can try. n might suprise you n be pretty good.

  • my example i meant why spend on a bottle that a bottle taste alot alike?

ok, down to 2 brands...canadian club classic 12 or knob hill single barrel 100proof? which would be the better buy n not dissapoint me? n at least taste very good if not better.

oh n vo gold..out of those 3. vo gold-knob hill-canadian club classic. all around $21-$24. now i'm leaning towards canadian club reserve at $20 a 5th. but i still could choose any of those 4.

Oh please, just ignore him. I killfiled him some weeks ago which increased my reading pleasure by no small amount...

btw, just spend the last weekend up in the Austrian alps, accompanied by some friends who always thought of whisky as being in the Jack Daniels taste-alike compartment. It's a good thing I always take a small bottle of good whisky with me when I'm away with friends - I was able to introduce them to some decent Highland Park 17yo and Ardbeg. :)

sincerely, christian
