Info on Lochruan, 12yo malt.

I've recently been given a bottle of Lochruan, 12yo malt whisky by someone and I'm trying to find out something about it. However, web searches haven't really provided much info at all.

I did a search on google and found a thread on Lochruan from around January last year (2002), but no-one in that thread seemed to know much about it back then. I'm wondering if anyone has come across it since.

The bottle I was given is Lochruan 12yo single malt from Leith Distillers in Edinburgh (and classed as a Speyside). It's not from the original Lochruan distillery, which closed in 1925.

After tasting it I was pleasantly surprised. It's quite light and very easy to drink. I usually prefer whiskies from the west of Scotland, such as Lagavulin, Talisker etc.

Does anyone have any more information on this one? I'd like to know where it is available to buy, and how much.

Regards, Shaun.
