Macallan by Sean michael

I picked up a bottle of Sean Michael's Macallan 16 year old 40% ABV. This Macallan is bottled by Aboyne Bottlers and imported to the US by Preiss Imports. Has anybody tried this single malt before? I'd like a few opinions before I open it.

Thanx!

I decided not to cellar the Sean Michael's Macallan and instead I gave it a good tasting. I was very surprised. There was virtually none of the distillery character of Macallan in it at all. It tasted very much like a Glenkinchie or Dalmore. The color is golden honey. The nose is soft mainly on new cut hay, buttery biscuit or cracker. On the palate the body medium light and smooth. At first there is the taste of white pepper, allspice and malt. This one isn't very expressive, very subtle instead. The finish is medium long with a nice balance of honey suckle, toasted bread and allspice. With a splash of water the nose softens further with the palate smoother with a more pronounced note of spicy malt. Certainly a good malt but not one to challenge the nose or palate. It is instead a soft touch.

Oh well...another one bites the dust. Now where did I place that Laphroaig at?

Happy Drams!
