Michael Jackson

You may not have agreed with his tasting notes or ratings, but no one can deny that Michael Jackson (the real MJ, not the little guy with the white glove who hangs infants out of hotel windows) is partly responsible for the current interest in whisky and beer. He apparently collapsed yesterday and died. He had been suffering from Parkinson's disease.

How unfortunate. His tasting notes in both fields are quite a legacy, though. He'll be remembered well.

(raises a snifter of a nice single malt) Thank you Sir.

A great loss. "Whisky" was the first book about SMS I bought and the one I always turned to for basic information. Liked his beer stuff, too.

Slainte, Michael!

It doesn't matter if you agree with his taste.... but for me he was THE author in the field of whisky. There are seveal good writers in the whisky field, but in my opinion, Michael Jackson was the and still is the standard.

rest in peace Michael,

Frans
