Nice blends

I was recently encouraged to try "Something Special Blended Scotch Whisky". It was an alright dram but reminded me of bourbon or better yet a Canadian whisky called 40 Creek Three Grain (which I do like). The sweetness seemed to be the over riding characteristic of this blend. I don't have much experience with blends but wanted to broaden my horizons. Would the group care to enlighten me on some preferredblends and there malt content?

Hi,

Black Bottle for peat. the standard is a nice dram, but the 10 yo which is all Islay is very nice.

I like Teachers also. bit of sherry, yummy drop.

I'm not a blend man really, but these 3 are above the nasty blends I often drink in pubs.

Oh, and not forgetting Johny walker black. V nice.

Lastly BNJ is good. Made by Glenmorangie and with large malt content, but not as good as Black Bottle IMHO.

Thank you for the suggestions. I look forward to trying some of these soon. Generally I drink Single Malts but not everyone that comes over appreciates or cares and I want something pleasant for me that is not too challenging for others. Once again thank you.
