OT... Irish Whisky

Hey gang... I am going to a St. Paddy's party on Friday and have been assigned the task of bringing the Irish Whiskey.

Any recommendations?

A big enough party for more than one bottle? Why not take a selection?

Look for colors. Black Bush, Green Spot and Redbreast are all very nice, though not the cheapest.

I was just given a bottle of Knappogue the other day which I cracked open. It's not crazily expensive ($35) and it has an slight edge the way most Irish Whiskies I've tried do, but it's very nice and holds its own.

Definitely a good one.

I would suggest either Bushmills or Jameson. Both are very good. If you want to get fancy, get the 16 year old bottle of Bushmills. Hope this helps.

I've tried Bushmills and the Black Bush. When I discovered Jameson's on my trip to the UK, I was sold! It's an excellent precursor to a Guinness Stout!

Undoubtedly the three best, but I'd rank the Black Bush last in the group. Green Spot is really hard to find in the eastern US.
