OT Maybe, Welsh single-malt?

Anyone here tried the Welsh single-malt Whiskies? The salesperson told me he liked it but had nothing particularly descriptive to say why. So I went with the MacAllen 12.

I've tried it, Dave. Was comped two 10 cL bottles of Penderyn several years ago. One of them remains unopened. Didn't care for it at all.

That's the one, thanks so much for the info. The packaging seemed heavy on marketing and light on details, which to me is a warning sign. I'll enjoy the Macallen 12 without regret then, thanks.

I've only had the standard bottling, but it was decent. Still a bit young, though.

I'm glad you didn't ask me what I didn't like about it, Dave. I would've just sent the bottle ta you! Which I'll still do, if yer in the USA.

Enjoy yer Macallen. I hoist a wee dram or three of Bowmore 17 in your general direction. That being unknown, I'll hoist one each N, E, S & W!

Slainte!!!!!!!!

I've seen it at the shops here, but it's priced higher than most of my favourite Islays. I won't spring for that much without some very positive recommendations, and I haven't encountered any.

Yes, it was $60 US which, as you say, I'm not going to spend unless I've heard good things about it.
