OT: need help making classic cocktails

I know a reasonable amount about single malts, way too much about coffee, enough about wine and cognac, but almost nothing about classic cocktails. One thing I *do* know is that most bars suck, and I don't often dine at five-star restaurants ('cause I'm not rich), so trying to get an honest example of drinks is difficult...and a few quick Googles reveals that frat boys apparently know lots about creating web pages for lousy drink recipes.

I am interested in finding good recipes for the following: classic martini, classic margarita, classic Manhattan. Can any of you, from experience, suggest guidance, either directly or to a source (such as a book or website)?

Thanks, John
