OT (?): Woodford Reserve Bourbon

Is bourbon-talk permitted here?

I was at a cigar herf last night and one of my buddies mentioned that the blend for Woodford Reserve bourbon had changed (for the worse) and one had to stick to bottles with batch numbers < X. Problem is, he couldn't remember what "X" is.

Anyone happen to have more info? Sounds like I need to drive around town and stock up.

I finally crawled out of bed and looked it up.

Up until batch 90 Woodford's was nothing more than extra aged honey barrels of Old Forrester, and it was, in a woid, supoib. Now they are using a 'new' blend or ageing or something and most folks are reporting that it's crap. Apparently the old blend of Woodford is now used to make Old Forrester 101.

So check the batch/barrel number on your Woodfords. If it's before 90, you're in luck.
