Which are must have single malts?

Now, that's interesting - my first bottle of this has arrived and it's not what I was expecting at all. I had led myself to believe it would be a sort of cask strength Balvenie DW, but it's not - it's quite a bit dryer and less sherried than that. Not bad by any stretch, but not quite to my taste. Ardbeg Oogie remains my top one, I think.

Probably a bad bottle. You should ship it to me so I can compare it to my other bottle...several times until both bottle are gone ;-)

The thing I like best about the A'bunadh is its mildew note (I'm not a professional taster, can you tell?), compared to Macallans, for example, which are comparatively sweeter and brighter.

As for the Double Wood, I have an unopened bottle (never tried it as of yet) and all this talk recently has made it very difficult for me to keep my vow NOT to open it until I finish two others of my near empty bottles. I suspect I will like it. If I am forced to open it soon, I blame this group!

No, no, I couldn't let you take that risk. I shall have to safely take care of it from this end. Thanks for the offer though, and nice try :-)
