I did a grilled marinated flank steak on the grill last night and opened a
1998 Jaboulet Hermitage La Chapelle. I haven't opened a bottle in years. A bit lighter in color and body than I remembered showing no brick but a pr etty garnet red. Nose of violets, cassis, plums, leather, crushed gravel a nd spice. Medium bodied on the palate with resolved tannins and a fair amou nt of acidity. Some black fruits and berries, a hint of green pepper, and m inerals. Probably past it's best years. "B"- posted
