a question for Santiago and a couple of wines

While in Tarragona I had a bottle of M_____ looked like Magellans, Negre, a delicious little wine that would have been finished with joy had it not been for the 100 kilometer drive back to Barcelona. Question is can you, Santiago (or anyone else I suppose) tell me what I had?

The night before, we had the good fortune to have a bad waiter the other night in a restaurant in Barcleona. He opened the Raimat without showing me the label. He opened a 2001 Cab Sauv with nice character, smooth a long finish. All the stuff of a good cab, but I had ordered the Tampranillo, so I got the 35 euro cab (restaurant price) for the price of the 16 euro Temp.

There were other good wines, a white in Athens, another in Santorini, a red from Provence (Chateau Thur___) but the notes are somewhere about my things, a well . . .

From your email, I infere that the name of the wine started with an M and it was similar to Magellans? Or is Magellans some sort of bottle/label/etc that I am not familiar with?

Also, do you know which D.O. was it? Tarragona? Terra Alta? Montsant? Priorat?

How was the label? Colour? Size?

Being a "Negre" it should be a dry red, correct?

If you can provide some more data, I think I could manage to find a bit of info.

Raimat makes quite interesting Bordeaux-varietal wines. They are mostly present in supermarkets and hypermarkets and, at least where I live, they are not considered "cool" anymore. I really like their basic cava (no longer a CAVA, but a D.O. Costers del Segre fizzy) which is quite available by the glass by a couple of wine bars I patronize.
