TN: 1978 Ch. du Tertre (Margaux)

Friday I got a ranch steak from local butcher, did a baharat rub, served wi th a spaghetti squash gratin, caprese, and greens. Wine was the 1979 du Ter tre, an old friend. Lovely perfumed nose, high toned and elegant. On the pa late cassis and black plum. Plenty of acid, a little tannin still giving s tructure, cigarbox notes get more intense with air. A-/B+

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a p arty where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivi ty, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
