Huge, Old Round Bottom Wine Bottle & Wicker Tote?

Does anyone know what the official name for this item would be: It's an old, huge wicker 2 handled basket with a separate wicker top sleeve that fits over the top neck and shoulders of an equally huge round bottom, gourd shaped green glass wine bottle (with original cork) which sits inside the basket bottom. I'm assuming it's Italian, and for making home made wine, but don't know what its true descriptive name would be. I found it out on recycling/trash night and picked it up because it was so rustic looking and thought it might look good in the garden with some plants in the basket. Not sure what to do with the huge round bottom bottle part though, since it can't stand up without some insert or base. It's all very pretty, but I'm also wondering if this sort of thing can only be purchased overseas and if it's still used by winemakers. Thanks for any info.

It's called demijohn, and yes, lots of people still use it.

I have one with a plastic basket. Very nice but do no try to move it with those handles when full. Not unless you have a real good chiropractor.
