2 more Rogues come to Casper

Stopped by one of the 2 liquor stores I frequent:

Oregon Golden Ale Mocha Porter

Also this week I bought one of them fancy assed ceramic Double IPA bottles at ~US12. Nice to have a swing top just in case I can't foinish the whole thing at one sitting. ;^)

Btw, sipping on the Golden right now....nice representation of malt in the flavour!

Best regards, Bill

PS: Can't wait for the Shakespeare Stout & Brutal Bitter show up.

I saw the Double IPA and Imperial Stout in the ceramic bottles for the first time the other day. At $13.95, I just couldn't pull the trigger. Maybe if it was Old Crustacean.

Just picked up the Mocha Porter too! In terms of flavor you could almost call it Shakespeare Stout's little brother IMO. Was thinking of getting the Golden Ale too but opted for the Honey Cream Ale instead, which I've tried and enjoyed...does anyone know how similar those two brews are?

lol. The Honey Cream Ale was also on the shelf but I don't really like honey.

we will of course expect details of the two you mention here, sir.

They're not particularly reminiscent of each other. I like the HCA much better than the Golden Ale.

Guess I'll have to try the HCA cuz I'm liking the Golden a lot.

I give a firm thumbs up to the Golden. The Mocha Porter? I can see where a lot of folks would like it but I, personally, don't favour it but... I

*have* liked beers with coffee overtones in the past so I guess this one just didn't hit the designated area in my palate. ;^)

You cannot finish 1 pint 9 oz of beer in one sitting? You're kidding right?

I bought the Imperial Pilsener in the swingtop ceramic for ~$12.00 and it was quite an experience. Sooo bitter. I haven't tasted Sterling hops used in such quantities before and I really thought it was pretty good.

1 pint 9 oz is no problem for me...the Rogue Impy is 1 pint 10 oz. That last ounce could be killer. lol

You in Casper WY? I'm here in Laramie gettin' f'd up on Mickeys. Running low on money and beer till Wednesday. Try out Easy Street Wheat out of Ft Collins.

That and the Younger's Bitter are Rogue's least interesting beers, IMO.

Everyone has their own tastes and I'm certainly not dissing anyone who likes these..they just don't do it for me.

If you drank the YSB < 50 or 55 F, you didn't taste much. It's a good cask/session recipe.

Yep, I am. Gotta tell ya, I'm not too keen on O'Dell beers(Cutthroat Porter *is* good) and for a wheat, I'd rather have New Belgium Sunshine wheat or the Boulevard.
