AleSmith IPA

I got my shipment in from Liquorama, which included 2 bottles of the AleSmith IPA.

I poured about 3/4s of the contents of 1 bottle into my glass and took a sip. Very nice. The malt and hops seem to be in perfect harmony. Then I looked at the remaining beer in the bottle and I see some particulate matter floating around. I know it says that it's bottle conditioned and that some yeast is present but is that what I'm seeing?? Looks suspiciously like, what I'd call, a "broken beer" ie it's surpassed it's use by date/ handled improperly. It would be an easy call for me if it didn't taste so darn good. Can I get some help on this one so I *know* what's going on here? TIA.

Best regards, Bill

Is it flaky? Sort of half transparent? Could be some proteins that have coagulated; happens to a lot of beers if they get too old.

But if it tastes good, just drink it with your eyes closed. Not gonna harm/kill ya.

could be, I dont know how much yeast alesmith tends to leave in their beers, (as much as Bells?), but it could just have been a heavy sediment that was disturbed after a vigorous pouring. If the hops were bright and fresh tasting, I doubt its an old bottle.
