Dickmann's adds beer garden, subtracts smoking

FORT WRIGHT — Dickmann’s Sports Pub & Grub is taking the local sports bar atmostphere to a whole new level.

On Wednesday, May 23, the hotspot will open an outside beer garden, which includes more than 2,500 square feet of seating space, flat screen televisions and a fire pit. The outdoor area also features a full service bar.

The grand opening will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a ceremonial toast led by Jake Leinenkugel, president and fifth-generation operator of the Wisconsin-based Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company.

In June, the indoor portion of Dickmann’s will become smoke-free.

Owner Richard Dickmann said smokers will be able to smoke outside in the new beer garden. He expects to add a cigar room in the future.
