It might be if it wasn't for the fact that there's about fifty of these on eBay at any given time.

I've seen so many displays of unopened bottles and cans at antique malls that I wonder if these so-called special issues are ever bought by the consuming public. It's amazing the number of people who will pay a premium for cases of those thinking they are or will become rare. Supply far exceeds demand no matter whether it is Jim Beam Bottles, Coke Cans or Beanie Babies.

heh heh....

Yep, the morons are legion. I remember the sixpacks of Billy Beer for hundreds of $$ in the newpaper want-ads when it finally went off sale. That stuff was so nasty they'd have to pay me hundreds to drink it!

There seems to be a group of people who will pay a premium for anything if the seller says it is a collectible limited issue.

As with most canned beer Billy Beer doesn't improve with age ROTF!

How about those who paid as much as $150 a bottle for Utopias when they came out. They can't sell them for $100 now.

What did San Adams sell them for originally.

I think they were going for about $125 each.

Yeah, that is kind of like "investing" in wine and whiskey. It's a whole lot easier to buy the stuff than it is to resell it. I buy beer and wine with the intention of enjoyably consuming it.

The bottle is probably worth somewhat more than the beer.

Which probably isn't saying too much...

At the risk of sounding crude, then the bottle might be worth dick...

'Cause the beer sure ain't!

The bottle that the Utopias came in is very nice. I'm glad I kept mine. I may fill it with a strong ale and see if my friends notice it when I open it.
