Cheap Tea Suspicions

I've been to the Ten Ren in Rockville. I was excited to go given the "reviews" of their shops that I've read in this group over the years. But I was unimpressed.

Their green teas are very nice. And the Earl Grey and Rose Black we bought were very tasty. But their selection was small, comparitively.

Neither my wife nor I thought it was worth the 45 minute drive for their teas.

This is true. They pretty much only carry green teas and oolongs. The black teas they have do seem to be an afterthought.

Well, try the Chinese supermarket across the street from them, and then go eat at the A&J Restaurant or at Joe's Noodle House. A&J is sort of redneck northern-style dim sum, and it's worth the four-hour drive for me.

Hi! Steve and the Gang haha! Peace! Well, just a note, what I have noticed is that if you are buying an Assam, get a vendor from Assam, if its chinese, get a chinese tea vendor from China or that particular place in China. This way it will be cheaper and you will get good quality teas. Yes, you have to hunt online but the result will be good. What do you say?
