electric water dispensing pots...worth the money??

That would explain their intended audience then. That would make something like the Zojirushi's more useful. I like the idea, and it would be great for large groups, I would have to put it under lock and key at my office for only a few to use at the present pricing. Even if I did find a deal I probably would only let a few touch it.

Yes it does heat to boiling. The cup of tea or hot chocolate I get I normally have to let sit or drink very carefully. For the $5 US I spent I have no complaints. I love them. They also make instant oatmeal quick and easy, as I keep those in the ready to make cups at the office for quick snacks and breakfasts at 0300. (I work at night.)

I don't drink coffee and with only 1 person in the house it works out great. Fill it up and get a nice cup of tea/hot chocolate.

No, thanks. In addition to the pouring spout, my kettle has a good-sized centrally positioned opening w/lid on top which makes it very easy to fill and the large bottom and stainless steel construction makes water come to a boil very quickly so that I don't have time to "get busy doing something else" after measuring out my tea. Also, by the note of the whistle, I'm able to ascertain when it's at 180F or 190F so I don't have to use a thermometer to brew at those temps. Not to mention that it takes up 0 counter space and I don't have to fiddle with a cord or plug.

OTOH, I might buy one to use in my motel/hotel room(s) the next time I'm away from home for an extended period because I got tired of using a coil heater the last time.
