Yes, I've tried eggplant parmigiana. No, I don't like it.
mmmmmmm. butter and paremsan....
I can relate- I happen to dislike strawberries, pears and peaches. Why people feel sorry for me when there re so many other good things in the world that I do like, I don't know.
Asian eggplant, the slender ones? They're less bitter and mushy than the bulbous western types. Look into Ma-Po Tofu, but with eggplant replacing tofu.

I always order eggplant on the menu. It's like liver and onions the chef knows how you don't. Greek and Indian restaurants serve tasty versions. You're not so past 30 you worry about your health. Eat more greens like spinach, turnip, collard, mustard plus boiled okra and puerh will taste like desert.
PS: Occasionally Walmart will have a thin slice baby beef liver that will cook in a skillet in minutes without the edges drying and curling. I think something like a buck for 12 oz.

I'll stick with the tofu, thanks. Yes, I've tried Asian eggplant. No, I don't like it either.
Actually, I hate liver and onions as done in a restaurant. I'm always disappointed. I prefer cooking it myself.
You must have one of those with the grocery store built in. I don't think we have any of those around here.
While I was not lucky enough to grow up around horse, I have ridden in the past. I happen to think horse piss isn't that bad a smell except on a hot summer day. And horse hockey smells- well- grassy. As Sasha says, it depends on what the horse eats.
I don't think he was trying to insult non-native speakers. He was saying natives don't know grammar. That's not always the case. I'm a formaer English teacher and I know grammar fairly well. I can even name the parts of speech. So can quite a few people.
I love the smell of barns- but then, I've never had to muck one out. That might make a distinct difference. Michele
It would be "Ensign Pulver's" is it's to show ownership and "Ensign Pulvers" to show pluralism.
I'm a former English teacher. Michele
It would be "Ensigns Pulver and Johnson" if there are two ensigns. It would be "Ensign Pulvers" if you were saying, "I don't want any more 'Ensign Pulvers' around here', meaning, you didn't want any more of his type in the vicinity.
Um, thanks. But Michael's the one who's under the weather.
That much I understand. But, are you saying that if someone else used a singular term and I want to use it as a plural, then I make it plural and put it in quotes?
I've liked L&O at only one restaurant, The Hungry Lion in Honolulu.
I do my own now by marinating the liver beforehand in red cooking wine and cooking in extra virgin olive oil.
Oooh. That sounds really good, actually. I haven't tried that, but I think I'm going to need to do so.
There was a great recipe I found online for liver with a reduced fresh fig and balsamic vinegar sauce...it was fantastic. I still add balsamic vinegar to my liver and make sure I only cook it long enough to be pink inside...too much and it gets tough.

Nope. Let me try to clarify by using the singular and plural below.
One day, a friend and I were talking about movies with with sea-going themes, and I remembered having watch _Mr. Roberts_ on tv. "Didn't that movie have Jack Lemmon in it?", asked my friend. "Yes", I said, "he played Ensign Pulver." "I love that movie, but I'm glad we don't have any Ensign Pulvers around here," said my firned. "Why?", I asked. "Because he was such a whiny jerk, and my roommate is bad enough!"
Joseph- nothing, but nothing, disguises the taste of eggplant, especially male eggpant (they aren't as sweet).
BTW, I saw a lovely picture of you the other day. I hadn't realized that you'de d>
That much I was always clear > And then I told the boss that the figglesnart had broken.
Dick responds:
There in lies the question. How best to make figglesnarts plural and still keep it in quotes.
