Whole Foods letdown

Stopped into the local Whole Foods the other day and found that they had virtually gutted their tea section. Previously they had 15 or so large ceramic containers of Silk Road teas, and a slew of others as well. All of that is gone, replaced by a small shelf of about 6 Silk Road teas, stored in small GLASS containers.

I asked one of the 'team members' about it, and she told me they needed the space. So what do they now use the old tea space for? Scented candles and such. I'm wondering if other WF markets are following suit..................................p*

Hmm, I may have to hop on over to Wild Oats (what they call whole foods here in utah) and see if the change is nation wide. Marlene

I wonder if they'd sell you the old ceramic containers :)

Now there's a thought. I wonder though, if they weren't supplied by SR.

I'll check mine this week. it offers In Pursuit of Tea packages as well as Rishi. FWIW, two thumbs up for IPOT and a wild strawberry for Rishi.

IPOT uses Beehouse, and I suspect SRT does too. You can buy said canisters on IPOT's web site. SRT does not sell them to my knowledge; they don't appear in their catalogue.

Scented candles and incense sound like the worst partners for tea. Pass 'em both by. Michael

The last time I was in WF I bought a 1oz tin of Rishi BaiMuDan for $10. I use it as a refill for the 1lb that I bought from Ebay for $10. I don't go anymore because the parking lot is full with the SUVs taking up two parking spots.

But what else would be parked at the whole foods market? I mean no self-respecting organic only soccer-mom would "waste" the time and effort to frequent an actual local organic grower for their food or become involved in a co-op or share-holder farm. You know, only the worst of the best at top dollar for the trendy and fashionable. If you ever want to watch a great documentary there is one called: The Real Dirt on Farmer John, the website is:

(the awards lining both sides of the page confirm my opinion I think :)

I'm hoping my Wegmann's in State College still has the massive tea section, my yearly visit is next weekend. All this talk has me worried now.
