Recommendation, Bladnoch

Hi

I recently bought a bottle of Bladnoch 13 YO original bottling (un-chillfiltered, 46% alc). Being an Islay-peatfreak a lowlander is normally not something that makes me overexcited.

But this one I can really recommend!

Nose: Distinct vanilla, aniseed, caramel, flowery, hints of smoke, citrus and wood. Palate: Dry, malty with tobacco notes and some woodiness. Finish: Dry, vanilla and hints of smoke. Long, warming and surprisingly powerful for a lowlander.

Cheers! Ingemar "The Ardbegbrother"

Absolutely Ingemar, but even more recommendable are the two cask strength bottlings: A 13 yo with label featuring Galloway belted cows and a 15/16 yo, label featuring blackfaced sheep. Pure nectar! The distillery also has a vivid forum at its website:

And if ever in the neighborhood this is a distillery you simply must visit.

Has anyone tried the Flora and Fauna expression? If so, what were your impressions?
