Beach beer?

Surfing all day on Florida's east coast. What is a good beach beer? If you say Corona I might ralph! LOL!

Seriously, I am looking for a good sore hamstring, bumped up knees and salty eye and 95 degree temp beer!

Sucks for him. I'm spoiled. If no Victory, then I agree--hefes (and wits) rule in the summer.

Alaskan Summer Ale, a German style Koelsch, is also pretty tasty .

Ugh, you must be kidding. Way too heavy for hot days. What you want on the beach is something light and thirst-qwenching, like a cheap light beer. Don't drink those high alcohol beers in the sun and heat, it's not good for you.

I just checked before I head out... Dominion Summer Wheat has 5% alcohol. The norm for shit light beers is 4.5-5%. I think even a corona or sol as about 5%. If you want light beer.. drink water.

actually Hefes aren't heavy for hot days. THat's why they're advertised as summer "wheats". Also, hefes and other beers with more flavor that a peice of shit light beer don't necessarily have more alcohol. That's a rumor by the uneducated.

If you're gonna troll like that, you shouldn't come across as ... oh, wait, you're serious? Never mind.

What *I* want, even on the beach, is something that at least tastes like beer. Cheap light beer doesn't come close. The stuff is served at popsicle temperatures for a reason: so there's nothing *to* taste. You can have it.

German wheat beers are "high alcohol beers?" Horse pucky. A typical hefeweizen from the likes of Franziskaner or Hacker-Pschorr (just to name a couple) has no more alcohol then freakin' Bud or MGD, but it has *loads* more flavor.

I suggest Bell's Oberon. It does wonders for me on hot summer days.

Hey Bruce.

LOL. Well, actually, I drink Natural Lite. :-) I kinda like the stuff, it's cheap, and I can have a few without feeling drunk. I just like the taste of beer, even if it's cheap beer. I drink the good stuff like these guys are talking about when I'm out to dinner or with friends, but not at home. I also like Natural Lite or other cheap beers at the beach because over the course of the day I'll pound down a six pack or so and the good beers get too cloying for me after a few. For example, I used to drink Corona when I went to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, but it was just a waste of money and if you get salt water in your mouth while swimming (like when wiped out by a wave) you can't taste it anyway. So I switched to cheap beer years ago. Preferably in cans, which are easier to fit in your cooler and fit better in your hugger.

Is it safe for me to assume you've never had a hefe?
