What are "whole leaf hops"? No hop leaves are used in brewing. The flower, also known as the cone or the bud, is used. Petals and lupulin glands are the individual parts of the flower. No leaves! :)

Oh, you're RIGHT, there's no question about it. But most of the brewers and homebrewers I know call 'em whole leaf. No biggie.

Sheesh.

Whole hops vs pellets. Try not to get too pedantic, ok? They *look* like leaves, or petals, or strobiles (the right name). You know the old saw about "a little knowledge"?

At any rate, the whole hop vs pellet argument is inane. If the hops are of high quality, it doesn't matter whether they are whole, plugs, or pellets.
